About Me
I am Dr. Aminur Rahman, a clinical, interventional neurologist and internist in Bangladesh. I am graduated from Sylhet M.A.G. Osmani Medical College, Bangladesh. I carried out my profession in different Government Medical colleges and Hospital under Ministry of Health and Family Planning in Bangladesh. I was a resident in the Department of Neurology at Sir Salimullah Medical College and Mitford Hospital, Dhaka, Bangladesh and awarded the degree Doctor of Medicine (M.D) in Neurology under University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. I obtained FCPS in Internal Medicine from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS).
I joined as a Fellow in Interventional Neuroradiology (FINR) at University Hospital of Zurich, Switzerland and completed the training. Then I expanded my career in Interventional Neuroradiolgy to Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand. I, afterwards, returned to Bangladesh and signed up with National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital, Dhaka as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Interventional Neurology. I am honoured as a Fellow of Royal College of Edinburgh (FRCP-Edin).
Now I am serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at Sir Salimullah Medical College, Mitford, Dhaka, Bangladesh. I am a Fellow American College of Physicians (FACP) and Member American Academy of Neurology (AAN). I am also posted as a Research secretary of Society of Neurologist of Bangladesh(SNB) Research secretary Bangladesh Society of Neurointerventionvention(BSNI).
I have 11 years’ teaching experience to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate modules of both a research-led and a methodological nature. I am also aware of the importance of the pastoral care of students and take the role of tutor very seriously. The foundation of my achievements to date lies in my ability to organize the time effectively, priorities tasks and use my initiative to come up with solutions to problems which will benefit for the students. My long term career goal is to continue to learn and grow my academic skills and abilities, whilst utilizing my experience, knowledge and skills to benefit for students, patients and the society.
I am an author. I wrote two text books on Neurology and Neuroradiology: “Short Cases In Clinical Neurology” and” Neuroimaging In Clinical Practice”. I had several publications in different national and international journals. Iam also an Assistant Editor an renowned journal Bangladesh Journal of Medicine.
